We welcome comedian Patrick back to the Full Scottish. Since first appearing on the comedy scene in 2002, Patrick has established himself as one of the hardest working and most likable comedians around.
A regular at comedy festivals through out the UK, he has also taken the stage at prestigious venues including Jongleurs and the Comedy Store as well as playing Broadway for Tartan week and even made it to the bright lights of Las Vegas when he took to the stage at the Riviera Casino.
Patrick is also the commercial director of Albion Rovers Football Club and is heavily involved in the charity Spirit Aid.
Full Scottish regular David Pratt will be bringing his insight to the world of international news, and we look forward to speaking to Sandra Brown OBE. With this week’s news of the resignation of the third chair of the inquiry into child sex abuse, who better to give us a perspective on the issue than Sandra who was was awarded an OBE for her contribution to child protection in 2006.
Sandra was just eight when eleven year old Moira Anderson disappeared from the small town of Coatbridge in 1957. Twenty-seven years later, at a family funeral, Sandra’s estranged father confessed to her that he had been involved in the girl’s disappearance. Appalled and fascinated by his curious half confession, Sandra began to delve into the case and in so doing discovered that her father was an acknowledged child molester whose activities were known not just to everyone in Coatbridge but also to the policeAs a result of her experiences, Sandra founded The Moira Anderson Foundation in 2000. She has remained deeply involved and assisted them to grow to where they are today. She is the author of the bestselling book “Where There Is Evil”.
Music this week is from North East Scotland folk singer and musician Iona Fyfe. Iona was brought up in Huntly in Aberdeenshire and is currently a student at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. She was a semi-finalist in last year’s BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards and is now recognised as one of Scotland’s finest young ballad singers.
With the Iona Fyfe Band she has just released the suitably titled EP ‘East’ – drawing inspiration from the folk songs from her homeland.
So do join us at 12.30 and sample this week’s Full Scottish menu.
