On the first session of Parliament Live from Holyrood this week, the focus is on compensation for the WASPI women, after the UK government agreed that there had been maladministration by the DWP, however refused to consider any financial recompense of compensation for what the WASPI women say they have lost.

That the Parliament calls on the UK Government to compensate Women Against State Pension Inequality (WASPI) women as recommended by the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman.

As an amendment to motion S6M-16160 in the name of Shirley-Anne Somerville (Compensation for WASPI Women), insert at end “; acknowledges that the UK Government has apologised to women who have been impacted as a result of maladministration, and agrees that the UK Government should look at all options for remedy, particularly for those most adversely impacted.”
